The teeth develop while the baby is still in the womb; however, the teeth do not actually erupt until much later. Most children start to develop milk teeth at the age of 6 months, but some babies get teeth much earlier and some do not get any teeth until much later. The incisors usually start to erupt first, followed by the canines, then the first and second molars. Most children will have all their milk teeth by the age of 2.
